Lesson 81: Friends talking about an acquaintance

George: Yesterday I happened to meet Mr Mathew
Rick: Is it!...where is he?

George: He is here only. Hadn't gone anywhere
Rick: Even I didn't see him for quite sometime. How is Matthew?

George: He is fine but he looked thin.
Rick: Oh...that's bad. I hope its nothing serious. In fact, he had a good physique earlier.

George: He was telling that he has become diabetic. May be because of that he has thinned down.
Rick: That's shocking indeed. I feel sad about his health.

George: Ya, even I was shocked. He was always active and also into sports.
Rick: I will try to visit him this weekend.

George: That's a good idea.
Rick: I will also take some books for him. He is a bookworm, I know.

George: He will be very happy to see you. At this age usually people feel very lonely.
Rick: You are right.

Hi,

I would like you to suggest in this blog.In the Fourth Conversation between George and Rick you have forgotten to put object after the verb "tell"

The correct sentence is
"He was telling me" instead of "He was telling" in the blog.

Dear Pavan,

I appreciate your concern but when one is teaching the spoken aspect of language, the aim is that the learner shouldn't keep worrying himself about grammar all the time, as it is the major stumbling block.

Most of us learn our mother tongue without learning grammar but in the case of English, the opposite holds true.
